Speeding for me but not for thee...

Of those citations, 76 were dismissed after supervisors determined that officers were responding to calls or had other valid reasons to exceed the speed limit.

Pardon me but I would like a list of what those "other valid reasons" to exceed the posted limit are. You are either on a call or you are not. If not, than you should follow all of the rules of the road just like everyone else has to.

I also love this part:

The officers are following the advice of their union, which says the citations are issued not to the driver but to the vehicle's owner -- in this case, the county.

These are the very same people that rightly criticize defense lawyers for using legal maneuverings to help their clients escape justice and here they are doing the same thing.
