Obama and Biden

That Obama still has a chance of winning after picking such an insensitive running mate just goes to show you how far America has to go come in overcoming its legacy of racism.
I will go out on a limb and correct(?) James Taranto here. I do believe this is what he meant.

That is quite a telling remark and one I happen to agree with. Based not on racism but on his history and policies, I find it remarkable that Obama has made it this far. This year's set of candidates are both shifted to the left. Obama very left and McCain barely right of center. I think this is a result of the Bush years and though I don't agree with the shift, I can at least understand it. I can not understand why Obama would pick Biden. It is almost as though he expects to loose and wants to make sure he goes down in flames. Biden can not speak for 5 minutes (he certainly can't speak for just 5 minutes) without sticking his foot in his mouth. He is an example of someone in office because the private sector would not have him. For Obama who was running as "a breath of fresh air in Washington" to pick Biden, the consummate insider is unbelievable. He would have been better served to pick Hillery (not that she necessarily would have accepted). When Obama loses, all of the pundits will yell "See America is still racist!" instead of pointing out that the Democratic party made a poor choice who then went on to make another poor choice.

I am not real happy with McCain but he an't Obama. He at least want to protect America first, second and third. I view Obama as another Jimmy Carter and don't feel that the country can take another one of those right now.

The other Obama

Does anyone think if Mr. McCain had a sibling living in a trailer park making minimum wage (892 times more than Mr. Obama's half brother's yearly income) that the mainstream media and the Obama campaign wouldn't notice?

Yet Mr. Obama has a half brother who lives in Africa on three cents a day, and the story breaks in an Italian magazine and is picked up by a London newspaper and a few others in Australia. Perhaps the story would be carried widely in America if they could figure out how to blame President Bush. But as Bob Geldof pointed out, he "has done more [for Africa] than any other president," and of the press harshly judged, "You guys didn't pay attention."
Nor will they pay attention that the McCains have adopted a poor Bangladeshi child and done untold amounts of humanitarian and charity work.

What makes this story newsworthy for Italians, Brits and Aussies, but not Americans, is that the U.S. free press is free to ignore stories that could take down their preordained president. And after the Internet and talk radio-driven "Swift Boat" story unexpectedly sank their last guy, the mainstream American press is taking extra precautions this time around.

No media bias here, nope none...

North Korea hates puppies too!

North Korea declares Sweden an enemy because they are acting as observers for the joint South Korean/U.S. operations taking place near the DMZ. Sweden is there to observe and ensure that the south and U.S. only perform defensive maneuvers. This is for the benefit of North Korea. So how does North Korea return the favor? They declare Sweden an enemy! Boy with friends like that...

Obama's convention to include "Real People" too!

This is rich!

The real people and delegates attending their first convention will be among the roughly 300 people sitting directly around the stage.

Professional speechwriters are helping prepare their remarks, timed to about three minutes each. And just like any senator or other VIP speaker, an assigned staff member will oversee their schedules and logistical movements, including media interviews, speech coaching and on-stage rehearsals.

So these "real people" will be assigned speech writers to "help" prepare their remarks! This is kind of like reality TV then, it will have nothing to do with real or reality! Also, they are supposed to be "real people" that have been selected to appear as part of the night's festivities. So the rest of the attendees are not "real". Well that actually does make sense. The rest of the attendees are politicians!

A world without America

Good idea for a site. The ad posted is interesting and I want to say it was good but I really think they could have done a better job. I rate it as fair. I think they could have listed more examples of U.S. solders not only helping to win wars but helping in humanitarian efforts as well.

eMail Joke: Lie Clocks

A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, 'What are all those clocks?'

St. Peter answered, 'Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.'

'Oh,' said the man, 'whose clock is that?'

'That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.'

'Incredible,' said the man. 'And whose clock is that one?'

St. Peter responded, 'That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life.'

'Where's Senator Obama's clock?' asked the man.

'Obama's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan.

More Obama-facts!

More Obama information that the grand MSM won't be telling you any time soon.

And you thought a boat was a money pit...

You should check out Ethanol!

Reason TV has an episode up on Ethanol. Ethanol, it takes more energy to produce than you get out of it, it causes more pollution than not doing it, it is subsidized out the wazoo so it is a money pit, it has transportation and storage issues... The only people that like it are the farmers and the politicians!

Non-partisan Accountable America

This is too rich! Accountable America, a new site set up by Tom Matzzie claims to be “a non-partisan, non-profit corporation.” and that “We do not seek to elect or defeat candidates or endorse candidates for federal office”.

Non-partisan , eh?

On the site’s “about us” page where I got the “non-partisan” line also includes this bit of information: Tom Matzzie is founder and chairman of Accountable America. Tom has worked in progressive politics for more than a decade—with MoveOn.org, the AFL-CIO, the Campaign for America’s Future and campaigns at the presidential and statewide level.

Non-partisan, eh?

The site’s meta tags (from the Google cache Aug 8, 2008 15:18:35 GMT now as the “live site” seems to have been edited) includes:

[meta content="" name="'description'"]Dedicated to electing Democrats to the state legislature across America[/]

[meta content="" name="'keywords'"]Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee DLCC state legislature Democrats electing Democrats[/]

I guess the meaning of the word “non-partisan” is different in liberal circles verse the real world.

Where is the "push for peace" left?

Apparently, they were all so enthralled watching the Olympics that they all completely missed the Russia/Georgia war that started a few days ago. I guess to get it noticed by the peace loving left, GWB will have to say he will commit troops or some such. It is not like Georgia had a democratically elected government or anything.

I guess the U.N. will pass a proclamation or some thing as well, if they can work up the nerve.

Oh, and before you say it, this is NOT like America and Iraq. There were 12 years of sanctions, talk, resolutions and a coalition of nations in support of that action. This move by Russia is NOT the same thing and you know it.

Nancy Pelosi the Empowerer!

You go GIRL!

While Madame Speaker advises America's daughters to "never draw a line in the sand," she refuses to return to Washington and allow up-or-down votes on Republican energy proposals.

While Madame Speaker advises America's daughters "to defend your position with facts," she has demonstrated blinking ignorance about the price of gas in her own district and the laws of supply and demand.

While Madame Speaker advises America's daughters to "treat one another in a civil way," she has resorted to business-as-usual demagoguery against her ideological opponents. Over the weekend, Pelosi denounced the conservative revolt on the House floor last week -- an objection to the Democrats' five-week recess -- as "a war dance of the handmaidens of the oil companies."

Oh the hypocrisy of it all!

Paris Hilton has a better energy policy than Obama

As Ann alludes to, I read this "ad" as being a number of things. I think it is somewhat funny, it does poke fun at McCain and I think it hits Obama hard. It makes him out to be a bigger air-headed celebrity than Paris. I think it helps McCain and hurts Obama. McCain should work to make sure people know about this.

See more funny videos at Funny or Die

As some of the commenters have posted, if the McCain camp were smart, McCain would say:

  • Since Senator Obama refuses townhall debates, maybe Paris will show up.

  • Mention the spot and comment again on his age.

  • Clarify that he and Paris actually DO have the same energy policy, unlike the other candidate that just wants you to add more "hot air" to your tires.

More stuff like that...

This ad from the McCain camp is not bad either though I think the Moses stuff at the end is a little cheesy.

25 Reasons You May be a Racist

5. If you think "Vero Possemus" is Latin for "Massive Ego" you... may be a racist.

Feds send man to prison for protecting town from flooding

Before the jury was dismissed to enter into deliberations at the conclusion of his trial, Judge Lynn Winmill instructed the jury, believe it or not, to disregard every bit of information from 1980 to 2002, including the Corps’ denial of jurisdiction and the mandate from local government for Mr. Moses to maintain the flood channel.

Instructed by this notoriously activist judge to ignore facts, reason and legal history, the jury returned with a guilty verdict, finding Mr. Moses guilty of “discharging” “pollutants” into one of the “waters of the United States.”

His conviction ignores the fact that no evidence was ever presented in court that Mr. Moses “discharged” anything into the stream bed at all. He only removed sand and gravel bars that were already there and which he was contractually obligated to remove. He was extracting material from the channel, not discharging material into it.

No evidence was presented in court by the EPA that there was any water at all in the stream bed during those years for Mr. Moses to “discharge” anything into. The EPA claims that “fallback” – material from the bank falling back into the stream bed – represents a “discharge,” but it offers no objective criteria for deciding how much “fallback” it takes to cross the magic threshold, meaning the EPA used sheer speculation to assert a violation.

Obama-nomics

Obama on Friday called for a $1,000 "emergency" rebate to consumers to offset soaring energy costs amid fresh signs of a struggling economy with the nation's unemployment rate climbing to a four-year high.

Obama told a town-hall meeting the rebate would be financed with a windfall profits tax on the oil industry.

So, Barack Obama’s great energy plan is to give consumers a $1000 to help them with the high price of gas and he is going to pay for it by... wait for it… taxing oil companies! What a brilliant idea! So let us see how this will work, shall we? Consumers get their $1000 dollars (nice bit of nation wide welfare, that) and the oil industry is then taxed to pay for it. The oil companies then are forced to raise their consumer prices in order to pay the extra tax resulting in (you guessed it) higher gas prices at the pump.

That could be a new campaign slogan for Obama. “How do you turn $4 a gallon gas into $5 a gallon gas without even trying? You Obama it!”. I hope he was a better lawyer than he is an economist, though that may explain why he is a politician.

Obama-mainia

This DNC ad that is trying to claim that McCain has gone negative...

Seems like just a fancy version of this ad...

And yes I know (at least I strongly hope) the second ad is a joke but that is what makes it good satire, it is a joke but at the same time, very close to the truth about the DNC and a lot of Obama supporters.

What is so amusing about the DNC ad is that the ad quotes liberal sources saying that McCain is attacking without showing any actual McCain attacks. That is like me saying that Clinton lied and then quote AnnCoulter saying he lied when in actuality I would just show the clips of Clinton saying that he did not have sex with that woman and then follow it with the clip of him apologizing for having sex with that woman. See the difference? If they had "proof" of what they say, why not just show it instead of quoting the Times saying it?

I find it amusing how whenever someone has the "nerve" to question a democratic politician as to their fitness for office, their lack of experience, their questionable decisions and associations, it is considered an "attack" but it is perfectly alright and reasonable to call any conservative the most vile things. Obama spent years attending a church that preaches "God damn America" but don't you dare question Obama about it. Obama got his political start with the help of an unrepentant domestic terrorist but that is not important. Obama has involvements with a corrupt organization that has been involved in voter fraud (ACORN) but that is not news, at least not to the MSM.

UN-BRIBE

Like Jimmy Carter, apparently the U.N. as also never met a dictator they didn't like. In this case the U.N. has been sending untold (they don't know how much) amounts of money to Burma for "aid" but of course the U.N. was completely unaware the the local tyrants have been pocketing the cash.

Is Hollywood too timid for the war on terror?

Nice piece in general and he makes some good points, read the whole thing. He does makes a false assumption though with this statement:

You don't have to like President Bush or support our efforts in Iraq to understand the threat of conspirators plotting to kill your children in the name of jihad.

He assumes everyone or mostly everyone agrees with and believes this. Sadly, this is not the case. There are many, a very many people that do not think me, you and your children are in any danger at all from Islamo-fascism, especially if we just leave them alone. That is a fantasy that we just can not afford to let America indulge in. There are scores of schools in the middle east and across the world that are teaching children that America is the great Satan and that to die while killing Americans is the most glorious thing they can do. That kind of hate can not be answered or changed by just leaving them alone. If we do not try to address this issue over there, we will be addressing it right here at home.

Oh give me a break!

This is frigging ridiculous! Now according to our court system, being sexually incapacitated is now going to be a protected disability for the purposes of the ADA. What a crock! The ADA was intended to protect those with "real" disabilities. The sightless, those with hearing problems, mobility issues, etc. Not those with weight, physiological, emotional, substance abuse or sexual problems or issues. As is typical, no good deed goes unpunished and a real attempt to help those in real need of a level playing field in society has been warped and twisted by those with an ax to grind or the desire to wear a "victim" badge. This case should be tossed out as it was the first time but I guess common sense does not rise to appellate-court level.

It is really starting to get crowded around here...

This is the third dwarf planet or plutoid (sorry Pluto) found in our solar system. It sure is getting crowded around here! It is a shame that we are not more "into" space. We should be out there tooling around our solar system. We should have space stations and moon colonies and be on our way to Mars. Instead we are nursing an aging shuttle fleet and working on a global space Motel 6. Shame.

Sorry but this is just too funny...

Robin Williams: The Plan

Robin Williams , wearing a shirt that says "I love New York " in Arabic.

You gotta love Robin Williams. Even if he's nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

Robin Williams ' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)

"I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan."

1) "The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler , Mussolini , Stalin , Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein , and the rest of those "good 'ole' boys", we will never "interfere" again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave or we'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be avail able to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.

The Language we speak is ENGLISH..learn it...or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan? "The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses." She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' "

eMail Joke: Question

Q: How many women with MENOPAUSE or PMS, does it take to change a light bulb?

A: One! ONLY ONE!!!! And do you know WHY? Because no one else in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb! They don't even know that the bulb is BURNED OUT!! They would sit in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it out. And, once they figured it out, they wouldn't be able to find the #&%!* light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CABINET for the past 17 YEARS! But if they did, by some miracle of God, actually find them, 2 DAYS LATER, the chair they dragged to stand on to change the STUPID light bulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE WRAPPER THE FREAKING LIGHT BULBS CAME IN!!! BECAUSE NO ONE EVER CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE!!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED FROM THE PILES OF GARBAGE THAT ARE A FOOT DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE!! IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS PLACE! AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON WHO CHANGES THE TOILET PAPER ROLL !! I'm sorry. What was the question?

eMail Joke: The Republican Fisherman

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, 'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am.'

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, 'You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.'

She rolled her eyes and said, 'You must be a Republican.'

'I am,' replied the man. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' answered the balloonist, 'everything you told me is technically correct , but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me.'

The man smiled and responded, 'You must be a Democrat.'

'I am,' replied the balloonist. 'How did you know?'

'Well,' said the man, 'you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault.

What were they thinking?

I am not sure if I am more disappointed in the U.N. or in Israel for this. What the AP chooses to call a prisoner swap is in reality an exchange of 5 cold blooded terrorists for 2 dead solders.

The U.N. once again shows its self to be an enemy to freedom and democracy. They helped to broker this Israel/Lebanon exchange that allowed the release of 5 terrorists in exchange for the bodies of two dead Israeli solders. They also hope to broker more swaps in the future. I am sure that they do. The more terrorists that they can get Israel to release, the more that are available to terrorize Israeli civilians. I believe one of the 5 terrorists released was this "hero".

It has been reported that According to Israeli officials, the bodies were received in a severely-damaged state

Additionally an Israeli official stated "the verification process yesterday was very slow, because, if we thought the enemy was cruel to the living and the dead, we were surprised, when we opened the caskets, to discover just how cruel. And I'll leave it at that."

I won't hold my breath waiting for the U.N. to condemn Lebanon for how the solders were treated both before and after they were killed.

As has been said before, with friends like this, who needs enemies.

How do the Democrats address gas prices?

Why they propose solutions that they know will not work and/or will not help while claiming to be doing their part.

In fact, the Dems' cobbled-together statute won't generate a single barrel of new oil production. It contains a series of provisions that add nothing to existing law or existing energy production capabilities.

Typical.

Another example of "consequence free" confrontation

It is so easy to poke the bear when you know the bear will absolutely not bite you, when you are guaranteed to be able to get away with it. There is no "speaking truth to power" in that. Just opportunism and to a degree cowardice. It is easy to demonstrate where demonstrating is free. It is quite different to demonstrate about real issues in places where there is a real cost to dissection. That guy in Tiananmen Square was protesting. He was putting it all on the line for what he believed in. Quite the contrast from these people who protest against the issue du jour while risking nothing.

One man's terrorist is another man's hero...

What the Times describes as a kidnapping raid that "went horribly wrong" seems to be anything but.

Perhaps Israel’s most reviled prisoner, Samir Kuntar, will return to a hero’s welcome when he crosses into Lebanon this week, 29 years after he left its shores in a rubber dinghy to kidnap Israelis from the coastal town of Nahariya. That raid went horribly wrong, leaving five people dead, a community terrorized and a nation traumatized. Two Israeli children and their father were among those killed.

Out of 21 paragraphs in this story at least half are used to explain poor little Kuntar's background. His life and upbringing. No paragraphs describe the life and upbringing of the Israelis he murdered. The Times does not discuss the short life of the 4 year old girl who's head he smashed in with a rifle nor do they spend any time describing the girl's father who they shot before her eyes (just before killing her). They don't spend any time mentioning the dead man's other daughter who died as a result of the raid (she was accidentally smothered by the girl's mother while in hiding for their lives). I guess that "background" information is irrelevant to the story of this poor courageous man, this hero.

There is also this gem.

But much of Lebanon, its Shiite majority in particular, regards Mr. Kuntar as a courageous fighter who has sacrificed much of his life in the nation’s struggle against Israel.

Yes indeed. Mr Kuntar is quite the courageous fighter shooting an unarmed father in front of his 4 year old daughter and then crushing her skull killing her. What a man! That others in Lebanon celebrate this man speaks volumes about those in Lebanon as a people and as a society.

I also like how the Times chooses to describe the other terrorists that were killed in the raid "his colleagues". Colleagues, as though they were all members of the same chess club or something instead of cold blooded, murdering terrorists.

Mrs. Kuntar (the terrorist's mother) turns defensive when asked about the child. “Certainly, it bothers me,” she said in the 2006 interview. “She wasn’t guilty of anything.”

Well there you are wrong Mrs. Kuntar, she (and her father) were guilty, guilty of just being Jewish and for many Arabs, that is all it takes to justify their deaths.

Visitors

We had some company unexpectedly drop in around 6:30 last night. They only stayed an hour or so but did make quite the impression. They have visited before but usually only after midnight.

No news here...

It seems that the Chicago Tribune does not deem a pro-gun rally that was attended by 500 or more citizens news worthy. Wonder why? Could it be that in the minds of the editors of the Chicago Tribune, a peaceful, pro-gun rally in Chicago (especially in light of the recent supreme court decision on D.C.'s ban) is not something they can politically support and as such is not news?

Suzanna Hupp did make a comment about the press: (loosely quoted from memory) “that they would search the crowd looking for 1 overweight man wearing camouflage, missing half his teeth and put him on the evening news rambling like a mad man.”

I attended a pro-gun rally in Richmond VA many years ago. It was downtown, which at that time was all corporate and all suits. A friend and I watched a local news crew work their way through the crowd bypassing person after person until they found someone dressed in fatigues. They must have walked past 100 people until they found the "type" they were looking for. Later on the news I saw that they even framed the shot so as to be looking away from the crowd so as to not show that 99% of the attendees were suited men and woman.

As a commenter noted: "When Jessie Jackson buses in 200 people, it gets on the front page for days." but there is no agenda here.

The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism

This is a presentation by Dr. Andrew Bostom where he discusses antisemitism and his book. The video is 2 hours long but well worth watching.

Dr. Bostom makes it crystal clear that Islamic antisemitism is contrary to popular belief, not a new invention but instead is a fundamental part of Islam and the Koran.

The new "black list"

While it is true that the ratio of Obama-to-McCain bumper stickers in West L.A. is about 250-to-1, there are untold closet Republicans in the entertainment industry who dare not advertise their beliefs in movie studio parking lots. (Unfortunately, car keying is a tactic wielded liberally by the self-described "tolerant.")

Sanity strikes again!

The World Health Organisation and the European Union have allowed Uganda to spray DDT to kill mosquitoes (that spread malaria).

About time! The number of people (children included) that the environmental movement has killed as a result of their unwarranted crusade against DDT is a crime of the highest nature. It is estimated that 2.7 million people die each year of malaria, mainly among children under five years old. The fact that it is still difficult to make use of DDT to help save lives even after all this time is another travesty of emotion over reason.

Rachel Carson started the movement against DDT with her book Silent Spring (released in 1962). In this book, she misrepresented and/or ignored the science done on DDT to support her stance that DDT affected the reproductive cycle of birds. Another fine example of environmental facts in action.

The Untold Story of Gun Confiscation After Katrina

With guns we are citizens without them we are subjects.

Schooling Wesley Clark

I do not approve of or agree with everything that McCain the politician did or is doing but he has shown himself capable of the most honorable of things under the most trying of circumstances.

Clark's statement just further highlighted the difference between McCain and Obama. McCain did things. It appears that time and again, Obama just showed up.

NYT; France TV 2 al-Dura lie "not a story"

As noted in the article, the NTY spend plenty of time pushing the al-Dura story when it thought the story true, that Israel forces killed a 12 year old boy. It appears that this story has been proved to be a lie in French court but no word of that a the Times. What gives NTY, this does not count as news?

More Dallas County idiocy...

Racial hyper-sensitivity, the gift that keeps on giving!

Apparently, along with astronomical phenomena, “devil’s food cake” is a racist terms too, as well as "black sheep". What will be the next item on the list? Will we have to change 'being in the "black"' to something else?

Also, I have not heard if the commissioner has yet apologised for his clearly racial "white hole" comment but then again, he is black and according to some, African-Americans can not be racists.

Muslim Woman Protests X-Ray Specs

Via Protein Wisdom.

It would seem to me that a far safer, more equitable solution here is to have a separate scanner for women only, staffed by women. This way, the same "tight" security can be maintained but the local sensibilities can be respected. Which is more invasive? Having your revealing scan seen by another woman or being physically patted down and intimately touched by a woman?

Is New York City the new California?

"ban-happy busybodies" is putting it kindly...

This is a nation wide phenomenon and it only seems to be getting worse. Don't worry though, it is all done to "protect" us, oh and "for the children".

ACORN in the news again!

Acorn chose to treat the embezzlement of nearly $1 million eight years ago as an internal matter and did not even notify its board.

Acorn was also a former client of Obama and that Obama helped train Acorn staffers. And while the paper identifies Acorn as an “antipoverty” group, it is also frequently involved in scandal-ridden voter registration drives. Both Obama and Acorn joined briefs urging the Supreme Court to overturn Indiana’s voter ID law. Acorn’s national political arm has endorsed Obama, even as its ”non-partisan” wing gears up for another round of registration drives.

In Dallas County, celestial events are now racist!

I kid you not. In a county commissioner's meeting, one commissioner said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

To which another (black) commissioner John Wiley Price, interrupted him with "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

So, at this point, in Dallas County at least, a collapsed star that has gravity so strong that light can not even escape, is racist. You can't make this stuff up!

The article does not say if John Price ever apologized for his racially insensitive and racially motivated remark. Somehow, I don't think so.

Poor little old librarian...

Is kicked out of a John McCain town hall meeting for NO reason! The brutes!

But wait, there is more! It turns out that the poor little old librarian is really a former reporter and is a member of the Progress Now network. Progress Now if you will recall is linked to MoveOn.org and funded by George Soros. I would not hold my breath waiting for the nightly news to include this extra information.

Some little old lady librarian she turned out to be...

San Francisco group want George W. Bush Sewage Plant

So a group in San Francisco wants to rename a sewage treatment plant after President Bush. If that is the case, I guess it would only be fair to name a women's abuse center after former President Clinton and a mental facility after former President Carter.

No good deed ever goes unpunished, #2

Not commenting on how bright the parents were for letting this "person" stay with them and the article does not make it clear if they knew of his status but the result of their kindness is unmistakable.

A family known to Conway was nice enough to let him stay with them beginning about a month ago. This family has at least one child - a fourteen-year-old girl.

The father came home about 3a.m. on Saturday morning and found both his child and Conway gone. He called police because not only were they gone it did not look as though his daughter went along willingly.

Conway’s slipper was found in his daughter’s bedroom, her blanket was found outside the house and her bracelet was on the ground and looked as if it had been ripped from her wrist.

So this dumbass drives by the house at about 6a.m. while the police were there investigating. He takes off and they chase his car for about a block until he crashes into a truck with a family inside. He then jumps out of the car and tries to run. He fought with the police and they had to taser him.

So the police pop the trunk of the car and find the girl inside. Just to be on the safe side paramedics airlifted her to UC Davis Medical Center. They were concerned she had a spinal injury.

Conway is facing at the minimum charges of kidnapping, fleeing the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, and assault on a police officer.

So much for giving someone a helping hand. We can only hope that their daughter is OK.
