The perp still has a long way to go to pay for his crime but at least this was a start and based on the current state of justice in America, this may be all the family ever gets in the way of justice.
Had the home owner NOT been armed, this could have turned out to be a far more tragic story as in "Husband and father killed after surprising a burglar in the act".
