President "misspoke" about mother's healthcare issues

It seems that President Obama "misspoke" about his mother's healthcare situation and issues during the last months of her life. On the campaign trail and in debates, he made statements like:

"I remember in the last month of her life, she wasn't thinking about how to get well, she wasn't thinking about coming to terms with her own mortality, she was thinking about whether or not insurance was going to cover the medical bills and whether our family would be bankrupt as a consequence"

Well, it seems that his month had health insurance and her issues were with disability coverage, not with health insurance. Her issue was over her out of pocket expenses, not her health insurance coverage. This is much more different than you would think and the President (as smart as he is reported to be) should have known the difference.

I guess the real story did not play as well as he needed it to...
