OK, so let me see if I have this right. Some of the duly elected members of congress, elected to represent WE the people and to help uphold our rights, have decided to hold a sit-in. To throw a temper tantrum because other members of congress won't let them vote to further restrict the rights of Americans?
Really?
A friggen sit-in? What is this 1964? What are they 14 years old?
Let us not forget what this sit-in is about. It is about those that have been elected to protect our rights wanting to impost their desires on all Americans. What are those desires? They want to deny an American citizen their God given right to a firearm based on that individual being listed on a secret, government list. A list you would not know you were even on until you tried to take a flight or purchase a gun. A list you would not be told why you were on it, in fact they won't even acknowledge that you are even on this list that is preventing you from buying a gun. There is practically no way for you to get yourself off of this list as in part the government will not admit that you are on it. You broke no laws, you didn't do anything, you are just on this list. You are on this list because some bureaucratic somewhere thought you maybe, might be someone or friends with someone that might be suspicious. Or they checked the wrong box on a form. Or they mis-spelled some actual terrorist's name. Regardless, done, finished, over for you. No due process, no court hearings, nothing. Your ability to fly and your gun rights are just gone.
Do you want that? Here in America?
I don't. WE DON'T DO THAT HERE.
You want to do something? STOP LETTING THESE TERRORISTS ENTER THE COUNTRY! Why not start there? Don't let these vile Imams in. Don't let terrorist sympathizers in. Don't let someone running for President of the U.S.A. accept donations from countries and groups that promote terrorism!
Do all those things first and if we still have issues, we can talk BUT secret lists that strip citizens of their rights is NEVER OK.
This is also yet another reason why we should have a much weaker Federal Government. Such unserious people should not have so strong a say in normal citizen's lives. If an individual state wishes to elect these folks to state office, fine. I don't care. You generally get the government you deserve. But with these folks at the Federal level and with so much power, the rest of the country is forced to suffer for the idiocy of just a few states.
Oh and don't forget:

Can you smell the desperation in the air?
Andrew Breitbart's Big Government site scores another direct hit with this article and audio clip of a seiner Democratic congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton strong-arming for a donation.
They (congress) are getting so desperate that they are not even trying to pretend to follow the rules anymore!

When "grid lock" is the answer
“When you’re dealing with the Senate, it’s a miracle if you can get anything done at all,” House Appropriations Committee Chairman Dave Obey (D-Wis.) told POLITICO.
This sounds more like a feature to me! In fact, the way things have gone for the last 6 years or so, I would be in support of giving all members of Congress a 10% pay raise if they all promise to stay home and do nothing. They would do a lot less damage and it would be far cheaper in the long run.

Obamacare is for the little people
If all of the various Obamacare health plans that are being kicked around congress are so good, why is congress exempting themselves from it?
Congress will keep their gold-plated insurance plans as they force the rest of the country into a rationed health care government plan.
Personal doctors on call 24/7. Coverage that knows no caps. No exemptions for pre-existing conditions.
Their premiums are the same as those of insurance plans with half the benefits, and the plans last a lifetime; not until Medicare kicks in do ex-Members or loose their Congressional health benefits. Congress has repeatedly voted down any provision that would switch their insurance plans to the lower-grade public option if Obamacare goes through.
Don't worry though. This is either a lie being spread by the "vast right wing conspiracy" or it is just the price we all should be more than willing to pay for the outstanding service we get from our government...

Congress has already exempted itself from Public Option
Predictably, however, the Heller amendment was defeated, with all 21 committee Democrats voting against it. That vote is indicative of the reality that any bill requiring Congress to be covered by the same health care as the public has the proverbial snow ball in Hades' chances of being enacted.
and
Members of Congress presently get health insurance coverage through the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program (FEHBP), which offers enrollees nearly 300 choices among a variety of plans, coverages and costs.
The FEHBP covers federal employees and retirees, as well as Members of Congress, though the latter have additional perks of office that make their health coverage far better than that available - or affordable - for the vast majority of working Americans.
Would you have expected anything different? Me neither...

Hypocrisy, thy name is Congress
Congressman Eugene Green, a Democrat from Texas, is saying that if you're not from his home district, you're not welcome at his future town hall meetings. His plan to enforce this "rule" is to check photo IDs at the door.
He thinks that it is important that he only hear from HIS constituents, HIS voters but based on his actually voting record, he does not feel quite as strongly when it comes to general elections.

- Voted no on requiring photo ID for voting in federal elections (Sept 2006)
- Rejected photo ID requirements for voting (Sept 2005)
So to Eugene Green, it is more important to restrict his local town hall meetings to locals than it is to restrict US voting to US citizens. Nice...

Pork seems to be all that congress eats...
This is not a partisan problem any more. The Republicans are as bad as the Democrats and they all act like it is "free" money. I do not believe in term limits, I believe that we deserve the government that we get. If you are willing to continue to vote for the same liars and cheaters that you voted for before, than shame on you but this is getting ridicules. It is time to throw them all out and start over. The government could run so much more lean and mean than it is now and return so much more money to the people that earned it but that would get in the way of the designs of these grandstanding buffoons in Washington. The Republicans lost big in the last election, in part for their free spending ways and it looks like the new Democratic majority is no better. I say vote for no incumbents and lets send a completely fresh generation to Washington.
