The New York Times is at it again, spreading lies related to Republicans in this case. The lie in question this time is the easily debunked rumor that Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin had the rape victims charged for their own rape kits. The fact that author Dorothy Samuels sites the A.P. as her source is not a valid excuse given all of the recent fact check problems that have also plagued that bastion of truth. Dorothy states that “Ms. Palin owes voters an explanation.” How about Dorothy explaining how she still continues to push a story that has been debunked for months and even as recently as two weeks ago in USA Today where Palin spokeswoman Maria Comella said in an e-mail that the governor "does not believe, nor has she ever believed, that rape victims should have to pay for an evidence-gathering test." "Gov. Palin's position could not be more clear," she said. "To suggest otherwise is a deliberate misrepresentation of her commitment to supporting victims and bringing violent criminals to justice."
As is becoming ever more typical with the NTY, why let the truth get in the way of a good story. The media tried it with one big story a few years ago with the faked Bush National Guard memos. It seems that the media has learned at least one lesson, not to put all of their eggs in one basket. Instead of going for the jugular with one big wild story, they are trying to blanket the country with a thousand little wild ones. I guess their hope is that there would be so many stories out there that should the McCain campaign try to debunk them all, they would look like they were lying whether they are or not.
The flip side of this is that we are hearing nothing about Obama and his early years in Chicago, his Bill Ayrs connections, his time as a local legislator or his involvement with ACORN. I guess there is no time for investigative reporting on Obama when there are so many false rumors about Palin to spread…

Joe Biden, his own alternate reality!
"After seven years, in which our senior diplomatic personnel were not allowed to make a single contact with Iranians, the Bush administration realized the absurdity of its own policy and sent our leading diplomat to Iran," he said. "The Assistant Secretary of State as he went to Tehran, sat down at the instruction of the President of the United States." . . .
Trouble is, the event Biden described never actually happened.
In point of fact, the one "meeting" that has taken place was in Geneva, Switzerland, when Under Secretary of State William Burns sat in on a discussion between Iranian representatives and the other "P5+1" political directors involved in nuclear talks. The meeting, while a first, was not a negotiation; Burns was there merely as an observer, and had no formal role or talks with the Iranians.
So, point by point: Burns was not sent to Tehran; he did not go to Tehran; and there was no such instruction from the President.
Does Biden even try to pretend that he has a clue any more or is he so sure that most of the media will cover for him that he need not bother? And this is the guy they want a "heart beat" from the presidency?

PETA Urges Ben & Jerry's To Use Human Milk
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow's milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk, according to a statement recently released by a PETA spokeswoman.
I love Ben and Jerry's response: "We applaud PETA's novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother's milk is best used for her child."
Like most of the "social justice" organizations that were born out of the 60 for the purpose of making a difference, they did but instead of being happy with the improvements that they were able to make in the general lives of animals and the reduction and improvement in care for animals used in medical/product testing, they have lost their way. They are now a caricature of their former selves and have just become more shrill and ridicules in their quest to maintain relevance. In some ways they now do more damage than if they did not exist at all.

Bailout Plan
"I must tell you, there are those in the public debate who have said that we must act now. The last time I heard that, I was on a used-car lot," said Rep. Mike Pence, R-Indiana. "The truth is, every time somebody tells you that you've got to do the deal right now, it usually means they're going to get the better part of the deal."
Money quote by Indiana Representative Mike Pence (R).
I have to agree. At this time I think that the bailout is a bad idea. Let the free markets work and let those that will fail, fall. If congress and "community organizers" had not interfered in the first place and pushed banks into making loans to so many unqualified borrowers, we would probably not be in this mess. Additionally if the Democrats had not done all that they could to derail Freddy/Fanny reform in 06, this could have been avoided. As it stands, those of us that have been making our mortgage payments should not have to pay even more money to cover those that don't.

“Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman.”
So says Wendy Doniger, Professor of the History of Religions, University of Chicago’s Divinity School about Sarah Palin. What outstanding examples of tolerance those on the left are.

A new first, the virgin hooker!
Sorry but this is funny. This 22 year old woman is trying to auction off her virginity. That is the ultimate prostitute joke, "now we are just arguing over price".

Sarah Palin
"I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."
Mayor lied and will resign
I read all ~1100 word of this article and learned about a Mayor that had an affair, lied under oath, perjured him self, and other actions. What I did not learn in all 1093 words is what party affiliation the Mayor has. For that I had to turn to Google. There I found out (surprise, surprise) that he is a Democrat.
Why is it that papers can not seem to ever bring themselves to print the "D" when reporting on a political scandal of any sort but will almost without fail run out with the "R" when it is a Republican that is the target of the report?
