President Elect Trump, starting off on the right foot

You have GOT to love this!

As Trump Leaves Press Behind for Steak Dinner, Incoming Admin Already Showing Lack of Transparency

LOL!

In a highly unusual move, President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday night left his Manhattan residence without notifying the reporters covering him or giving any indication of where he was going.

The maneuver seemed to deliberately limit access to the media.

So, the media that treated him first like a side-show and then when it looked like he actually had a chance, like a pariah, is distraught that he is not kissing their asses? Really? LOL!

With his Tuesday night actions, the Trump Administration is shaping up to be the least accessible to the public and the press in modern history.

It only feels that way to the press because they have been wearing blinders for the past 7 years. They have not cared what the Obama Administration has been doing. They have been too blinded by the halo they put on his head. They are singularly incurious when Democrats are involved.

A week after the election, Trump hasn't yet held a press conference, the longest any recent president has waited to speak to the press. That continues a weeks-long drought that's been going on since mid-summer, when Trump last answered questions from the press.

Funny, I don't recall this same level of angst when Hillary was not holding press conferences for dozens of weeks.

Trump has also refused to travel with the press corps since the election, a continuation of his campaign practice of flying in a separate plane from the media that covered him.

Again, good for him. He is not a Democrat President Elect. He won't get the fawning, fan-boy treatment so why should he subject himself to that? No sane person would.

The media covering the president-elect have also not yet been offered briefings on his transition efforts, which was a typical practice for past presidents that allowed the public to keep apprised of the details of the new government.

Again, why should he? So that the press can start attacking his every decision and highlight every mis-step (or just make them up when they can't find them)? The press has shown that he will not be treated fairly. Why should he go out of his way to help them?

The press have and are going out of their way to call this the "most divisive" election and a "contentious" election. The left is rioting in the streets. The left is beating up people. The left is burning down buildings and blocking traffic. THAT is what is making this divisive and contentious. Funny how when Obama won (twice!) despite how racist this country was reported to be, there were no riots, no burned down buildings, no blocked highways. You don't think that conservatives "felt bad" that the other guys won? The only difference then versus now is that then the media's (and left) guy won and now the media's (and left) gal lost. Trump is not the problem, Racism is not the problem. The left and the media are the problem.

Why the news sucks, example #60183

Seriously, what sort of moron do news agencies hire these days that can manage to do their jobs so poorly but still hold on to their job? Is the pool of applicants so shallow that anyone will do?

This example comes from USAToday. The headline is: Teen who impregnates teacher gets $6M from district

The story is credited to Micheal Harthorne, Newser Staff. I believe that after reading this story (what there is of it) you will agree that the headline and initial paragraph are a "miscarriage of justice".

If you don't have time to read it, the gist is "a former student who impregnated a California high-school teacher received a $6 million settlement from the school district". The male student was 17 at the time that he was raped by his teacher and she wound up getting pregnant.  A more appropriate heading might have been "Known child rapist get pregnant by latest victim, school district settles with victim for $6M".

Why is it in these types of stories (female teacher/student sex) the news tries to mitigate what the teacher has done? Does anyone think that they would be so "understanding" if the sexes of those involved were reversed?

Though they did not draw attention to it, at least they include enough information for the reader to understand that this teacher is a repeat offender. Story doesn't say if she will lose her teaching license.

Can, you know, can you tell the truth and be fair?

This is an older video but still funny and still on point.

[Wrap up of segment on getting out of jury duty.]
Diane Sawyer: "You know, I wanted to sit on a jury once and I was taken off the jury. And the judge said to me, 'Can, you know, can you tell the truth and be fair?' And I said, 'That's what journalists do.' And everybody in the courtroom laughed. It was the most hurtful moment I think I've ever had.
Short answer: Sometimes the truth hurts.

I find it quite funny that she does not understand why everyone laughed! They really are that clueless...

Main Stream Media, a national disgrace

Read this article and then tell me there is any way that you can not call the national news in this country an national disgrace. The press screamed bloody blue murder when the government had the audacity to try to find out the source that leaked government secrets (under Bush) and yet when there is a very near country that routinely jails and tortures true, brave journalists, those that occupy that field here in the US are silent. So much for speaking truth. Yet another sad example of why they are ever more irrelevant.

One small win for the good guys

Now it is time for France 2 to acknowledge that it created and is continuing to perpetuate the worst anti-Semitic libel of our era.

Though I would not hold my breath if I were you...

Its all about tolerance

The money line is: If she had written a story about a charter school illegally giving instructions in the Catholic or Mormon faith, these same journalists would have nominated her for an award.

This is so true. Not only would she get an award but the ACLU would be suing and the school would be swamped with reporters. Instead she is being attacked by both the school, local politicians and her peers. I guess her crime is being intolerant of their intolerance.

Hard rock luck hotel

The USA Today (maybe not a great paper but certainly a big paper, ran a story on how hard hit folks are in the current economic down turn. This particular story would have been ideal to run April 1st but alas this story is no joke. This is how USA Today chooses to express how hard hit the “little” guy is thanks to the current economy:

Carlos Bueno and his wife, Mayra, drove three times last year from their home in Houston to a casino in Lake Charles, La., but they won't be making the two-hour drive this summer.

"Gas prices are the main reason," says the 32-year-old father of three children who works for a utility company and also is canceling the family's annual vacation to the Dominican Republic. . . .

To save money on casino trips, Al Katz sold his SUV last month and bought a more fuel-efficient Toyota Camry.

Katz, a 55-year-old comedian, drives with his wife, Colleen, about 70 miles every week or two from his home in Kissimmee, Fla., to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. They also drive more than nine hours a few times each year to gamble in Biloxi, Miss.

"We may have to eliminate a trip or two" if the economic downturn continues, says Katz, who entertains on cruise ships. "Every time I get off a cruise ship, gas is a quarter more expensive."

Marie Braun, 45, of Olathe, Kan., has already made the decision to cut back, from five casino visits a year to two or three visits. Gas is too expensive for a 60-mile round trip to Missouri, says Braun, who works for a telecommunications company.

"It's pretty tough to justify spending money on any kind of entertainment when it costs so much just to get to work each day," she says.

Oh so sad! These people are on the verge of loosing EVERYTHING due to the economy! They have no food, no home, no cars… no wait, they do have those things and in fact they have much more. They actually seem to have so much disposable income (even in this devastating economy) that they can still afford to take multiple trips a year to give their excess money to casinos.

This is similar to the old story of the cold war in the former USSR. There they used to show news clips from the 60s and 70s of war protesters and riots to demonstrate how bad things were in America and what the viewers took away was “they all have new shoes”.

The news is so worked up over pushing the story of a bad US economy that they will latch onto anything to help make their point, not realizing how ridicules their examples come across.

It is almost the punch line of a joke “the economy is SO bad… How bad it is? It is so bad, this year I can only afford 2 trips to Vegas to gamble!”

Oh the suffering from this collapsing economy!

The last thing Marti Tracy wants to do on a Saturday is clip coupons. But last month the 34-year-old Bowie resident felt she no longer had a choice. She'd already given up organic meat and decided to buy organic milk only for her 2-year-old son, not for the whole family.

Tracy and her partner also stopped buying the cereals they like in favor of whatever was on sale; stopped picking up convenient single-size packs of juice, water or crackers; and, in order to save gas, stopped going to multiple stores. "I find the whole thing a huge hassle, but I've reached a tipping point," said Tracy, a government human resources specialist who is pregnant with her second child. "Clearly, I'm not unable to feed my family. But I just can't feed my family the way I'd like to feed them."

If things are so hard on Marti and her partner, why is she pregnant with her second child? You have the children you can afford not the children you want, if you love them and want the best for them. Here is a person that is stating that she sees the writing on the wall and that her finances are getting squeezed. So what does she do? Why have another child of course!

Also I would love to add up the money she has wasted over the years by buying "convenient single-size packs of juice, water and crackers". Had she been buying in bulk she would have been both saving the environment and money.

Definitely a topic you do NOT hear about from the MSM. I am sure it is not considered news worthy as it runs against the prevailing wisdom.

Castro’s comrades

Even as he finally loosens his grip on power and moves out of center stage, his lapdogs in the media continue to try and airbrush his life and actions.

As some have speculated, CNN is sure that he can’t be dead!

Please say in our reporting that Castro stepped down in a letter he wrote to Granma (the communist party daily), as opposed to in a letter attributed to Fidel Castro. We have no reason to doubt he wrote his resignation letter, he has penned numerous articles over the past year and a half.”

If the letter could be “attributed” to Castro, what is stopping the numerous articles from being “attributed” to him as well? Anyone could have slapped his name on an article and had it run in the government controlled papers. A byline attributed to him is not proof of life. Just as a letter “attributed” to him is not proof of death. They just can not stop the spin, it is in their genetic makeup now.

Please note Fidel did bring social reforms to Cuba – namely free education and universal health care, and racial integration. in addition to being criticized for oppressing human rights and freedom of speech.

Oh nice, the free education and (questionable) universal health care more than make up for the evils of his dictatorship. What is a few political prisoners in the face of low illiteracy rates?

Also the Cuban government blames a lot of Cuba’s economic problems on the US embargo, and while that has caused some difficulties, (far less so than the collapse of the Soviet Union) the bulk of Cuba’s economic problems are due to Cuba’s failed economic polices. Some analysts would say the US embargo was a benefit to Castro politically – something to blame problems on, by what the Cubans call “the imperialist,” meddling in their affairs.

I blame the decline of American values on Hollywood and the teacher’s union and though I believe I am right, it may not be so. Just because Cuba blamed America for its economic problems, the rest of the world did not have an embargo. What, are we the only source of goods and services in the entire world?

While despised by some, he is seen as a revolutionary hero, especially with leftist in Latin America, for standing up to the United States.

Those Castro had killed and those still imprisoned could not be reached for comment.

Self defense for women

I know I shouldn’t have (mistakes happen), I watched the local Orlando Fox News last night. Not to be confused with the cable Fox News which I believe is “fair and balanced”. The local Fox news is just like any other local news station and just as addenda driven. One of the big stories last night had to do with women and self protection.

Before I get into the story, please take this little quiz; A 95 pound woman is about to be attacked by a 200 pound man. Which one of these self defense tools will give her the best chance to survive the impending attack? A) pepper spray, B) a whistle, C) a stun gun, or D) a 32 semi-auto hand gun.

The news opened this story discussing how the story's central female citizen did not currently feel safe in her new neighborhood because very recently another lady in her neighborhood was robbed at gun point. The first woman felt that she needed some self protection to help her feel safe. The story then transitioned into all of the various methods of self protection available to women. Their list included: pepper spray, personal alarms, stun guns, stun guns made to look like cell phones, cane stun sticks, etc.

The only item missing from their report, the white elephant in the room if you will, was not only the device used by the attacker that was the basis of this story but also the answer to my quiz question above, a hand gun.

I factitiously ask, why was a hand gun not mentioned as a viable self defense option for women? Could it be that most of the media have a bias against guns and as such, they only appear in stories where they can be shown in the roll of a villainous devices? It is indeed a rare local or national news story where a gun used for self defense is highlighted. This is Florida for goodness sakes! Practically any legal resident can get a concealed carry permit.

In the hands of a person that takes the time to get familiar with it and trained in its use a hand gun it is extremely effective for self defense and unlike a stun gun; there are a number of places where you can go to practice with it. I have yet to see a single place where a person can go with a stun gun and actually get practice using it. I don’t mean just pressing the button and hear it go click-click-click and watch the sparks, I mean actually using it and knowing how to use it. It is one thing to stand there and press the stun button and saying “gee, that was easy, I can do this” it is another to actually use it in a self protection event. I would be interested to know how many women purchase a stun gun, put it in their purse and never really touch it again. I actually have a female friend that owns 3 stun guns, none of them charged. That is also why, if you own a gun, you should make it a point to go to a range on a regular basis to target shoot. First, this ensures that you are familiar with the care and operation of your gun and second it ensures that you are comfortable with holding and shooting it. One hopes that you never ever have to use a gun in self defense but if the need arises, you should not have to think about the process. You will need all of your concentration for the event, to have to think about how your gun works and how to use it are distractions you may not be able to afford.

Where's the Outrage?

Well you won't hear much cause this can't be blamed (at least not yet) on the EVIL republicans. Once they figure out a way to make this Bush's fault, there will be no end to the cries of racism.

More of Hillary's funny money

The Kurdish News reported that the producer of one of the most hostile anti-American films made in Turkey "Valley of the Wolves-Irak" is a Hillary Clinton megadonor and bundler and was appointed a delegate by Hillary clinton to the Democratic National Convention later this year.

Don't expect this to make any headlines.

An't that the truth!

NYT shows why its circulation continues to fall

Poor reporting from the NYT is becoming so common place that one gets tired of reading about it. Maybe that is their "master plan" to run so many bad, ill conceived and factually wrong stories so often that is just becomes so much white noise (like all of the untruths that the Clintons told so often during his presidency) and no one will care.

speaking on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to comment.

This is turning into one of the most often read/heard phrases in any news article produced on just about any subject you can imagine. If this were a truly righteous world, 99.999% of the time that this phrase appeared in a story a reporter and a news editor would be fired. This phrase has come to represent the worst aspects of and most of what is wrong with the news. It is a cheap, lazy way for a reporter to complete a story. They speak with someone not authorized or allowed to speak to the press to get an angle. It is both intellectually lazy and dishonest and a REAL reporter would not do this nor countenance its use.

Jane Fonda, American Traitor B*tch*

Even after Jane Fonda's 70th birthday, she is still an unapologetic American Traitor B*tch and as noted, nearly all of the media give her a pass. She gave aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war and faced no consequences. She ever remains unapologetic and firm in her beliefs against America and for our enemies. Even after the hundreds of thousands were killed by the Khmer Rouge she stands firm for her Communist friends. Unlike the lies of John Kerry, our POWs were tortured for real despite what Hanoi Jane said. She has been and remains both a media darling and an American Traitor B*tch.

She was SO regal and calm!

When the hostages had been released and their alleged captor arrested, a regal-looking Hillary Rodham Clinton strolled out of her Washington home, the picture of calm in the face of crisis.

Well of course she was calm in the face of a crisis, she was not involved. She was a at her Washington home. She might have been truly concerned and worried for their safety but she was not involved in the incident. Under those sort of circumstances, calm is easy. The AP sure did a fine job of objectively reporting the incident too, didn't they!

When one kick in the head is not enough...

Here is another relevant article about campus indoctrination. This one covers the lack of adequate news coverage by the MSM (You remember them right? The last bastion of truth and justice left in America!) on this growing problem and how when the MSM can manage a mention this issue, it is down played as a difference of opinion about a program verses a refusal by students and parents to be bullied into believing that "all whites are racists" and that "Students will recognize that systemic oppression exists in our society". This is not diversity training, this is forcing an ideology on students until they accept the "truth" at least as higher ed sees it.

There is a good summary of this article here.
